About the Role:
Location: Melville, NY (Hybrid)
Base Salary: $115K plus bonus
This individual will be working with both the U.S. and Japanese teams to summarize requirements and develop systems. Provides creative and effective solutions to problems and assists in the development of policies and procedures. Has a thorough knowledge of the functional area, works independently and interacts with peer-level employees across Company. May provide input into establishing annual objectives for the function.
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
- As a team member of our IT division, the operation team executes task the following tasks:
- Management
- System monitoring
- Inquiry correspondence
- System Operation
- Environment management
- Defect correspondence
- Enhancement
- Configuration management
- In the event of a failure, you will receive a call from the operator, analyze the impact of the system, and take a prompt provisional response. After that, if necessary, you will consider the necessity of a permanent response and give instructions to the development team
- Another infrastructure team will handle infrastructure failures, but you will work with them to resolve the issue
- For enhancements, you interact with users, prepare specifications, and give instructions to the development team
- The operations team works in cooperation with the Japanese offshore team
- Japanese offshore team is in charge of night operation on weekdays
- Responsible for the operational design, implementation, configuration, management and use of information systems that will adequately support the enterprise infrastructure of the organization
- Analyzes system requirements and evaluates the needs of one or more functional areas within the ERP system in order to coordinate, implement and communicate business needs into technical requirements
- Defines system architecture including server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols
- Ensures that architecture project roll-outs meet security standards and be effectively integrated with current applications
- Works on complex technical and business matters
- Educates others in the workflow, business processes, and reporting metrics enabled by ERP modules
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 7 years of related experience
- Oracle 11g / 12g /19c databases thorough hands-on experience on SQL, PL/SQL
- Linux and Shell scripting knowledge
- Autosys Job Schedulers
- Hands-on experience with Java, JSP, J2EE
- Knowledge of the IBM Integration Bus introduction is a plus
- Operation/Implementation of Sales Management System
- Written and oral communication skills between English and Japanese is required
